Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, which provides clarity and insight on common inquiries about Southwest Internal Medicine.

We understand that your health is a priority, and we want to ensure you have all the information you need to make informed decisions about your healthcare.

Monday through Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 2pm. Provider evaluation is by appointment only. Walk-ins are not accepted. 

Our office will call to remind you of your appointment 48 hours prior. We ask that you give us 24 hour notice if you will not keep your appointment. A fee will be charged for same day cancellations and missed appointments. 

Billing questions should be forwarded to Total Billing Solutions at 678.889.2709

Please address questions about statements to our billing company, Southeast Medical Billing 770-271-8873. 

Please bring forms such as surgical clearance, school physical forms, FMLA and disability forms to the office. Do not mail or fax. You will be asked to complete a short questionnaire for disability/FMLA forms. There is a fee for completion of disability forms. Please allow one week for completion.  

If you are covered by a HMO insurance plan you will require a referral from our office before you schedule an appointment with a specialist. Referral requests take 3 days to process. Please make sure that your referral is current before you visit the specialist’s office.  

We have an on-site laboratory. Specimens are sent to Quest laboratories or Labcorp depending on the patients’ healthcare plan.  

You will be called if lab results are abnormal. 

You may call the office for a refill request during regular office hours. Medications will be called to the pharmacy by 6pm daily if the physician approves it. We will not refill prescriptions after hours.
